How does your fee structure work?
Our fees are 100% commission-based on successfully recovered amounts. There are no upfront costs, no setup fees, and no administrative charges unless otherwise agreed in writing. We only earn when you do.
How quickly will you begin working on my accounts?
We aim to assign a dedicated specialist and commence debtor engagement within 24 hours of receiving your accounts. Initial contact with debtors typically occurs within 48 hours of intake.
What types of debt do you recover?
We handle commercial B2B debt, consumer debt, public sector and government arrears, medical and healthcare accounts, educational institution arrears, and subscription-based business debt. We work across most industries and sectors.
Are you licensed to operate in South Africa?
Yes. KBT Debt Collections is duly registered with the Council for Debt Collectors (Registration No. 00128865/23) in terms of the Debt Collectors Act 114 of 1998. We are also a member of ADRA (No. 1222) and a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor.
How is my debtor data protected?
All information is processed in full compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We maintain strict data security protocols including encryption, access controls, and trained staff — your data and your debtors' data are fully protected.
What happens if pre-legal efforts don't work?
Files that cannot be resolved pre-legally are seamlessly escalated to our affiliated law firm, KBT Legal. This includes issuing summons, obtaining judgments, executing writs, and pursuing garnishee orders — all with full continuity, so you don't need a separate legal service provider.
Can you handle public sector accounts?
Absolutely. We have experience navigating the regulatory and procedural frameworks governing public institutions, including compliance with PFMA, MFMA, and procurement regulations. As a Level 1 B-BBEE firm, we are particularly well-positioned to serve government departments and SOEs.
